About the Opportunity
Eriez Flotation is offering a full-time career opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Delta, BC. This role embraces a hybrid work model, with 3 days spent in the office and 2 days working from home.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer, will lead a team performing engineering calculations of process equipment and supervise the activities performed by the department.
This position is responsible for performing a wide range of duties related to the design and manufacture of Eriez Flotation units and parts, including but not limited to:
- Participating in all phases of design, procurement, manufacturing/assembly, and testing of new products as well as performing engineering calculations of process equipment per applicable codes/standards
- Executing small, medium, and large-sized projects from quotation to supply stage
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, designers, subcontractors, and process engineers
- Providing calculations and assistance to the design group
- Assisting with product development and implementation of design standards, documenting system estimates, providing technical support to other engineers and designers, and conducting inspections
- Preparing engineering and project documentation such as data sheets, bill of materials, installation guidelines, QC documents, packing slips, and operation & maintenance manuals.
- Reviewing inspection reports, project quality control documentation, quality control issues, and quotations for completeness & compliance
- Assisting in the preparation of technical proposals and engineering drawings
- Ensuring drawings, bills of material, purchase requisitions, and quality checks are completed
- Reviewing customer RFQ documents, assisting in preparing RFQs for fabricators, evaluating proposals, and providing support to the fabricators during the manufacturing of the equipment
- Ensuring that equipment is built and operates in accordance with the design specifications and all Eriez quality policies and procedures are followed
- Participating in the machine de-bug and troubleshooting, prior to customer acceptance
- Directing and assisting in the preparation of Operating, Maintenance, and Training Manuals and conducting Equipment Training Sessions as required
About You
To qualify, you must have at least 8 - 10 years of engineering experience including 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role, in charge of a small team of 3 or more engineers. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the flotation technology, manufacturing, and/or mining equipment industry. The successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to travel (approx. 20%).
We also require a degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registration in BC.
In addition, you must have knowledge, skills, or experience in the following:
- Extensive knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Vault Pro software
- API 650 and ASME B31.3 Codes
- NozzlePRO and Pipe-FLO software
- Inventor, Vault Pro, or Solidworks software
- P&ID, PLC/HMI
- Process control and implementation
- Field experience (asset)
- Prior fabrication experience
