About the Opportunity

Eriez Flotation has a full-time career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Delta, BC on a hybrid work model.

As our Mechanical Engineer, you will perform engineering calculations of process equipment and provide support for activities performed by the Engineering department.  

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Performing design/engineering calculations of process equipment per applicable codes/standards
  • Executing small and medium-sized projects from quotation to supply stage
  • Working within an established project scope of work, schedule, and budget
  • Assisting in preparing estimates of cost, material quantities, equipment weights, and project timeline
  • Preparing purchase orders for fabrication and inspection
  • Directing the preparation of drawings, bill of materials, and shipping volumes
  • Reviewing of P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and instrument indexes.
  • Checking, preparing, and assisting in required documentations, including data sheets, drawings, O&M manuals, compliance documents, and installation guidelines
  • Preparing instrumentation data sheets and catalogue cuts
  • Assisting in preparing and evaluating vendor bids, vendor proposals, and purchase order drafts
  • Coordinating with other discipline designers, engineers, shop personnel, other offices' personnel, and customers
  • Visiting vendors and project sites for conducting inspections, supervising installations, and inspecting equipment maintenance, as required
  • Assisting sales staff as required, to solve customer technical problems, remotely and at customer site
  • Inspecting instruments, valves pumps, and motors 

About You 

To qualify, you must have at least 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in the flotation technology, manufacturing, and/or mining equipment industry.

We also require a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registration in BC.

In addition, you must have the knowledge, skills, or experience in the following:

  • API 650 and ASME B31.3 Codes
  • NozzlePRO and Pipe-FLO software
  • Inventor, Vault Pro, or Solidworks software
  • P&ID, PLC/HMI
  • Process control and implementation
  • Field experience (asset)
